Before I went to a Phoenix chiropractor, I tried just about every remedy for allergies known to man. My whole life has been one long quest to figure out a way to combat my horrible allergies. I was that kid who had to stay indoors during half the year because going outside caused coughs and sneezing and rashes and you name it. I always had handkerchiefs, was always coughing, and usually had some sort of rash requiring various salves and ointments. Nothing seemed to work and just getting through childhood was a real ordeal. It didn’t get better as I got older, either.
I moved through treatments like a ghost. I’ve had more tests to determine what I’m allergic too than I can remember. I’ve had shots, supplements, dietary changes, nose sprays, pills, and even acupuncture and nothing worked for long. I trudged through most of the year like I was in a haze, largely because I was. Even the winter months brought little relief due to the fact that I’m allergic to stuff indoors as well. I can’t begin to tell you how trying it is to wake up on any given day and start the sneezing and wheezing.
A friend told me about his chiropractor and how he saw that they did some work with people who suffered from horrible allergies. I’m skeptical, but I am also willing to try anything that might help. I went in and they tried a treatment I’ve never heard about before. Acupuncture is involved, but only as part of the treatment. It’s more about using pressure to stimulate areas of the back to relieve the stress load allergies cause in the body’s major organs. In short, I don’t know the finer points of the procedure except to say that it works! I’ve never felt this good! The allergies aren’t gone but I’m living better than I ever have.
